Tuesday, October 4th

I missed a couple days because everything went crazy.  I don't know why I feel compelled to explain to my journal why I didn't write in it, but I do.

As anyone would of guessed, my absence was mostly because of dad.  Although, I didn't actually see him for 2 days.  Mom has him stay in the bedroom.  I feel really bad for him and I've begged mom to let me go in and see him, but of course I'm busy watching Ace and trying to do homework.

Today was actually really good though.  Jax called me, begging me to go with him to see Hadleigh.  My grandmother overheard the conversation, and told me to go.  She says I keep myself cooped up too much and that I need a break from being home.  Heck, she's right.

It was rather funny though when Jax showed up at my doorstep.  I wish I had a picture of the look on my grandfather's face when he set his eyes on him.  Of course, my grandfather is one of those old fashioned types, and was completely appalled.  Thankfully, my grandmother managed to divert his attention by offering food long enough for me to escape without getting a lecture.

We walked a mile or so to the hospital, which sucked because I brought my guitar with me.  Of course, Jax told me I had to bring it.  I questioned a bit about what the deal was with this girl, but he wouldn't tell me much of anything.  It kinda scared me, and I secretly hoped she wasn't sick like my father.  I also hoped there wasn't something seriously wrong with her at all.  Somehow, I don't think I can handle anymore.

I never did find out exactly why she was in the hospital, I do know though that she's very, very pretty.  Her eyes lit up when she saw Jax and I enter the room.  Her eyes were the first thing I noticed.  Most guys will say that about a girl, but the vast majority are lying.  I'm not.  Her eyes were hazel, being dark orange around the pupil and bursting out into greens.

The next thing I noticed immediately put me in total dismay.  She's a jackal.  Or at least, appears to be.  Her ears are very tall and rounded off on the top.  The reason this bothered me is mostly because my family (well, mostly my grandfather) is rivals with them.  I'm not really sure why, but I think it has to do with where we (wolves, by the way) came from.  I tried to shove all of that crap out of my mind though.

We got along very well.  I guess the guitar thing had to do with how much she likes music.  We must of talked about the different bands we liked for hours, and I even played her a few songs.  Jax left after a while, but it didn't really phase me to be left alone with her.

At the time, I don't remember noticing her being ill, but now that I look back I remember her seeming weak.  She never stood up and got out of the bed.  A couple of IVs were in her arms, and a nurse would come check on her every once in a while.  I'm still completely clueless about what's wrong with her, but she did tell me that she'd being going to school in a few days.

I got home a half hour after my curfew, but no one seemed to really care.  I had something to eat, and then mom told me that dad was finally getting better.  I went in and spoke to him for a while before I went to bed.

I told him everything about Hadleigh, even that she's a jackal.  It didn't bother him at all.  He listened to me really intently, cracked a smile occasionally, and didn't badger me with questions like mom does when I talk about girls.

I hugged him, said goodnight, and now here I am writing in this journal underneath the covers of my bed with a flashlight.  It's so darn cliche that it's hilarious.  I don't think I've felt this happy in a while.  I just hope I don't ruin it by waking Ace up.
Here's more, haha once I get going I can't stop! I think this is it for today though...
