Friday, September 30th

So I've never really written in a diary before, so this should be interesting.  I think I'll call it a journal instead because a diary seems like something a girl would write in.  I guess I should introduce myself, even though it seems odd to tell a book about myself.  My name is Jacob Lonnuas, and today was my 16th birthday.

My mother got me this journal and insisted that I write down my feelings in it.  See, I'm not a emotional kind of guy.  I tend to just bottle all the crap I put up with inside, then explode.  When I say explode, I mean EXPLODE!  A few months ago, Vic was asking me if I wanted to go out for a walk while I was trying to do my homework, and I flipped out and punched him in the face.  He ended up with a black eye and a bone in his face broken.

It wasn't really him that made me mad.  I was just so stressed out about the school year ending, with finals and everything.  I was a freshman back then, and had never taken a final exam before.  Plus, most schoolwork is difficult for me.  I'm just not the academic type.

So my mother got me this journal for my birthday so maybe I could vent and hopefully not explode again.  I have a feeling she'll probably sneak in my room and read it, but I really don't give a crap.  I don't have anything to hide.

I guess I'm supposed to write about what happened today or something?  Alright.  Today was the end of my first week of Sophomore year.  Being a Sophomore is a million times better than being a Freshman.  It seems like last year was initiation or something, and now this year I'm in the high school crowd and have earned a bit of respect.  It feels freakin' awesome.

With this amazing new social status, its getting easier to make friends.  Before now, the only guys I hung around were family members: my cousin Aiden, and uncle Victor.  Well, Vic feels more like my brother than uncle because we're around the same age and live in the same house.  My parents, sister, brother, grandparents, and uncle all live here.  It gets pretty crazy sometimes, but I can't imagine living any other way.

Anyway, I've started to make some other friends.  I was sitting at the table by myself in Biology today, and then I was joined by a Freshman guy.  The teacher called off his name as Maxwell, but he insisted upon being called Jax.

Jax is a dog who stands a few inches shorter than me and is what most people call punk or gothic.  The vast majority of what he was wearing was black, along with eye makeup.  The hair on the top of his head was spiked up into a mohawk, and his floppy ears are covered in piercings.  He joined me at my lonely little table, and we got along famously.

I learned that he's extremely intelligent, having skipped a grade back in junior high.  Most of his friends are in 7th and 8th grade, and every single one of them is a girl.  He thought it was hilarious when I told him none of my friends were girls, and that I had never dated before.

He introduced me to a couple of his friends later on today.  There was Karen, 7th grade and just 12 years old, who apparently is his girlfriend.  She's a solid white cat with dyed black hair that's almost always in her eyes, but she's surprisingly peppy and hyper.  She's also best friends with Jax's younger sister, Paisley.  Same age as Karen, but is a silver fox.  Jax explained to me that both he and Paisley were adopted.  The last girl I met was Gypsy, a chihuahua.  I was surprised to find out that she's my age, due to how tiny she is.

Oddly enough, they seemed fascinated with how I knew how to play guitar.  Most just remark "Oh, that's cool," or something like that, but they seemed obsessed with it.  They told me that I had to meet their other friend, Hadleigh, who was currently in the hospital because of this skill.  It doesn't really make much sense to me, but I'm going to see her tomorrow anyway.

I guess that's all I really have to say about today.  I hope I didn't bore this poor book with my stupid life, if a journal can be bored.  I'm sure tomorrow will being more interesting when I meet this Hadleigh girl.
So I'm going to submit a bunch of little short pieces like this, and I think most of them will be "written by" Jacob. This is furry anthro, if you didn't notice :XD: I'm not sure yet what direction I'm going with this and I don't have a clear ending in mind. I'm just going to make it up as I go and see wear it ends up :)

September is the ninth month of the year
This begins very similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Didn't realize this was a furry story until the description of Jax, you might clarify next time. How would a bruise (ie black eye) show up under fur?

Otherwise, great start, man.
